The higher the resistance the harder it will be to move the foot plates and the more intense your workout will be. However, many of our Ellipticals have built in computers that allow you to adjust the resistance a the push of a button on the monitor. |

The benefit to manual resistance adjustment is that it is less expensive than a model with a built in computer for adjusting resistance. The drawbacks are that it isn't as easy to adjust as just pressing a button, and you won't be able to have pre-set programming which would automatically adjust the resistance to take you through a workout.
